Stephen Masumba is reportedly unhappy with President Edgar Lungu for not appointing him as a deputy minister in the cabinet, a source tells Zambia Reports.

The former Sports Deputy Minister, who is also the Mufumbwe Member of Parliament, Masumba is unhappy with President Lungu for not re-appointing him as Deputy Minister despite campaigning for him in the just ended Presidential by-elections.

Family sources have confirmed that Masumba has been complaining bitterly over not being given a job. Only recently Masumba was serving a one-year jail sentence for forgery before he was pardoned and released from prison by Former Acting and Vice President Guy Scott.

According to some civil society activists, Masumba should have lost his seat in parliament following his conviction before the courts.

Masumba was expecting to be appointed as Deputy Minister in the Lungu administration, but his outstanding criminal charges have cost him as he was not cleared for appointment by the Office of the President Special Division, which has been tasked with background checks for all cabinet appointments.
