VICE-PRESIDENT Inonge Wina has formally apologised on behalf of PF over the offensive statements made by party secretary general Davies Chama against UPND politicians.
Wina she was apologising if the words spoken by Chama had caused embarrassment and anger on some people.
She said the statement was aimed at politicians and that it was unfortunate that it affected the entire Tonga land.
“As politicians, we sometimes publicise issues out of context. I hope our colleagues will take my apologise something that comes from the party and the bottom of my heart,” she said.
Vice-President Wina has since said the party has taken disciplinary action against Chama but that it is an internal matter of the PF.
She said despite President Lungu meeting Southern Province chiefs, the matter does not seem to be resolved and that the PF will promote unity, not tribal politics.
