Tourism and Arts minister Sylvia Masebo has appointed the wife to Vice-President Guy Scott, Charlotte on the board of Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA).
Masebo announced additional board members when he inaugurated the new board members.
Among the new board members is Investrust Bank managing director Friday Ndhlovu, Retired director general for the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Bradford Malumbe, former Lukulu Member of Parliament Eileen Imbawe and Dr Harry Chabwera.
Masebo has urged the board to immediately investigate corruption allegations in ZAWA.
She also challenged the new board to sort out the over K2 million outstanding debt for ZAWA and recover debt owed to ZAWA
“Let us not bring our personal interest. Let us bring the interest of the country at large and I have no doubt in my mind that each of you I have put on this board can perform. I expect the board to work and support management,” she said.
Masebo has come under persistent condemnation for appointing justice minister Wynter Kabimba on the board despite having many lawyers in the Ministry of Justice.
Some people have called for the withdraw of Kabimba and replace him with another representative from the Ministry of Justice.
