The Southern African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (SACCORD) has advised Patriotic Front Lusaka province chairman Godfrey Chuumbwe to rise above his kind of politics and take responsibility for the bad behavior of his cadres at the UPND rally.
SACCORD information Officer Obby Chibuluma says it is very unfortunate that Chuumbwe, as a leader, has decided to divert attention from the issue on the ground by insinuating that some people attended the UPND rally to show support to their tribesmen.
Yesterday, Chuumbwe – the architect of the Kabwata violence blessed Wynter Kabimba and President Michael Sata – accused Chibuluma and FODEP executive director McDonald Chipenzi of showing a true reflection of their alleged partisanship with UPND for attending the Kabwata rally in their capacity as observers.
Chibuluma says it is shameful for Chuumbwe to insinuate that he was at the rally to support the UPND.
Chibuluma, who admits being present at the rally, says he only attended the rally in his capacity as a SACCORD official to monitor the event, as part of his organizations work.
Speaking in an interview with Qfm, Chibuluma says Chuumbwe’s plan of trying to divert citizens attention from the matter at hand will not help as what the people want are the solutions to the problems being created.
He states that Chuumbwe’s failure to take responsibility for his cadre’s action only makes him a failure in his leadership within his party.
