KazalaNdola-based football administrator Alex Mambwe has demanded an explanation from FAZ regarding the K150, 000 allegedly stolen by suspended vice-president Richard Kazala and suspended committee member Blackwell Siwale.

Kazala and Siwale allegedly squandered funds that were proceeds of the association from match tickets of the encounter involving Zambia and Nigeria.

The two officials allegedly transacted on behalf FAZ with government. Records show that Kazala and Siwale collected K1, 650, 000 but the money FAZ received for the transaction was K1, 500, 000.

When FAZ treasurer Rix Mweemba made inquiries as to when government will pay the difference, it was learned that the officials had actually been given the full amount.

FAZ president Andrew Kamanga later suspended Kazala and Siwale pending investigations and subsequent submission of the report to the FAZ council.

Kazala has refused to recognise Kamanga’s decision claiming the FAZ boss did not follow procedure. The Chingola businesman has since launched a campaign to pass a vote of no confidence in Kamanga at the AGM next year.

However, Kazala has been dodging queries of whether he collected the money or not. Both Kazala and Siwale are contesting their suspensions using dark corner methods but when asked to explain how much they received on behalf of FAZ councillors, they are running away.

FAZ councillors are demanding to know where their money has gone.

Vocal administrator Mambwe posted on Facebook, “Pls can someone save Zambian football by asking people to explain where our K150,000 went. Coz the account at Football House had not balanced. Cash from point [A] was K1,650, 000 but before reached FAZ [received] it, [it] became K1,500, 000.

“The treasurer [Rix Mweemba] is at pains, he can’t reconcile [the books]. Remember we need to clear this from suspense account. Am shocked that people [are] still talking about procedure of suspension and yet the account is not yet balanced. Failure to balance this is already an audit query. u don’t need ACC. u need the police.”
