Republican President Michael Sata has directed Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Mutembo Nchito to establish whether United Party for National Development president Hakainde Hichilema can be prosecuted for his wealth.
President Sata says it is well known that Hichilema allegedly accumulated his wealth through theft. However, it is unconstitutional for President Sata to give such orders to Nchito as he is expected to carry out his duties without interference from external forces.
This is not the first time President Sata has talked about Hichilema and the privatisation. When swearing in Nchito as director of public prosecutions over 12 months ago, President Sata issued the same directives on Hichilema. President Sata has previously distributed confidential financial informations of Hichilema.
“He even boasts that he is the richest politician, that young man,” he quipped.
President Sata, who was incoherent in his speech at State House this morning, has accused Hichilema of diverting resources from the privatization of companies to his personal accounts.
This was when he swore-in re-elected Mpongwe Member of Parliament Gabriel Namulambe as Foreign Affairs deputy Minister at State House. President Sata claimed he sympathizes with Hichilema because he has never worked hard for anything that he has.
President Sata also swore in Sinjembela UPND Member of Parliament Poniso Njeulu and his Kalabo Central counterpart Chinga Miyutu as deputy ministers in the ministries of information and broadcasting services and youth and sport respectively.
He said it is very unfortunate that the UPND is no longer the same party it used to be under its founder leader late Anderson Mazoka. While President Sata is pretending to praise Mazoka today, he is among the politicians that mocked him even in his sickness.
Meanwhile, President Sata says it is funny how MMD president Nevers Mumba is claiming to be taking care of the party when he cannot take care of his hair a statement he is repeating.
President Sata has also accused Dr Mumba of duping his church of resources and further convicted the MMD leader of stealing money in Canada when he was facing court charges related to the same issues he was mentioning in public.
Meanwhile, President Michael Sata says he does not care whether youths in the opposition UNPD and MMD attend or stay away from youth day celebrations. He said the same way the women in the two opposition political parties shunned the Women’s day celebrations on Friday, the youths were at liberty to do so.
