United Party for National Development (UPND) spokesperson Charles Kakoma says his party is ready to hold mass demonstrations across the country should the Patriotic Front trample on the existence of the opposition.
Kakoma has reiterated that there is a scheme by the ruling party to do away with the opposition in the country and thereby turn Zambia into a one party state.
The UPND spokesperson further states that his party is on high alert and that it will not allow any maneuvers to suppress the opposition’s voice.
He says recent developments in the country’s political system where the ruling party is allegedly fanning political disorder and in the process blame it on the opposition are contrary to the democratic principles.
