The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) has called on government to push legislation in parliament that will compel political parties to disclose their source of funding.
YALI president Andrew Ntewewe says the Patriotic Front government should put the matter into serious consideration stating that failure to which,President Michael Sata risks going through the same probing when he leaves office just like former president Rupiah Banda.
Ntewewe says the PF government should not think that it is safe just because it is in office.
He states that it is time that government swiftly moved in to put in a legislation that will deal with political party funding, which he says seems to be a main source of concern.
And Ntewewe says the manner in which opposition parliamentarians are trying to protest over issues in parliament is disappointing.
He notes that although walking out of parliament is a way of demonstrating, it does not auger well in a democratic nation like Zambia.
