Erick Mwanza, the man who was fired by the Zambia Daily Mail for forging the signature of the company’s then human resource manager to obtain a loan, yesterday directed his social media attacks at the respected fourth Republican president Rupiah Banda.
Mwanza has launched a sustained campaign to project Kalusha Bwalya as the only God given FAZ life president. He is casting aspersion at Andrew Kamanga. Kamanga has emerged as strong contender set to succeed Kalusha when the election is held at Moba Hotel in Kitwe on March 19.
The development that Kamanga is posing as a strong contender is not going down well with Kalusha and his team. They either want to block him from contesting the election or sustain their malicious campaign.
However, Mwanza should be exposed for the crook he and the fraud he live. In his posting yesterday through sponsored proxies, the youngman accused president Banda’s government of supporting Kamanga who he alleges was illegitimately claiming FAZ leadership in the 2009 wrangles,
Mwanza states Kamanga was supported by “a corrupt and inept Government that was equally kicked out of power by the PF months later” in a direct attack of president Rupiah Banda.
Look who is talking. Mwanza should by now be referred to as an ex-convict had it not been for the goodwill of the Zambia Daily Mail who decided to let him go than pursue a police case. No one’s needs reminder, Mwanza inclusive, that president Banda run a very good administration. He equally acted above board when the matter of FAZ mismanagement was brought to his attention. Any other leader in president Banda’s shoes at the time would have thrown Kalusha and his team out of Zambian football. Learn to be grateful Erick.
Here is a response to Erick Mwanza’s full statement
ERICK’S STATEMENT: Kamanga has never been a proprietor of Kitwe United. The club has forever been owned by Kitwe City Council except for a period it surrendered the club to Hexagon Limited which is owned by Kitwe businessman Justin Nshimbi with the help of one Ponga Liwewe.
RESPONSE: At no time has Kamanga claimed absolute ownership of Kitwe United. If he has made any reference to Kitwe United, it’s his contribution to the club when he was under Hexagon Limited. It’s good that Mwanza acknowledges Kitwe United was at one time surrendered to Hexagon. Both Charles Nshimbi (not Justin as Erick suggests) and Ponga Liwewe are around. Nshimbi is a businessman in Kitwe with sufficient details about Kamanga’s involvement with Kitwe United.
ERICK’S STATEMENT: The first ever league sponsorship by KCM was brokered by FAZ under the Presidency of Teddy Mulonga and Kalusha Bwalya as the Vice President and was part of the mining giants corporate social responsibility contribution to the Zambian people at the time they were enjoying a tax holiday by the Government. The sponsorship later extended to payment of the coaches salaries for Herve Renard and Patrice Beaumelle. There was no Andrew Kamanga in the mooting of both deals.
Yes, if you approach issues with a narrow mind like Erick, you will believe forging your boss’ signature makes you a star and anyone else can’t compete or has no contribution to life. If you are signature forger, you will have no time knowing that Andrew Kamanga was the key person advising almost all the mines at the times they were coming into Zambia including KCM. When they asked as to what corporate social responsibility they needed, Kamanga advised them that soccer was the best way to exercise their muscle and become good corporate citizen. He handed over the program to FAZ to continue with the issue till fruition. Further the sponsorship of national team coaches Herve Renard and Patrice Beaumelle was an initiative of president Banda. It brought KCM, FQM and other sponsors on board.
ERICK’s STATEMENT: City of Lusaka remains a community club that has not been sponsored by anyone except for financial help rendered to it by the former Solicitor General Sunday Nkonde. In City of Lusaka papers turning the club into a PLC by the late Judge David Lewanika, there is no stated record of sponsorship by Kamanga to club. To the contrary he would have claimed that which he put into the club with the current majority shareholder of the club Forli Limited. When leaving Kabwe Warriors he was fully compensated by Railways Systems for every penny he claimed he pumped into the team.
RESPONSE: There is no dispute City of Lusaka is a community club. But who can deny the club has largely survived on the goodwill of many people individuals some who have never sought publicity about their contribution. If Erick can take time away from mastering other people’s signatures, he would know about a long list of people that have helped City over the years. Simataa Simataa who was once Chairman for City of Lusaka can tell you that the likes of Lishomwa Lishomwa, Andrew Kamanga and many others made huge contributions to the team. There are other private citizens like Leenus Kaputa who are making contributions to City of Lusaka with little or no publicity.
Thanks for admitting Kamanga was sponsoring Kabwe Warriors. It’s hoped you know the difference between RSZ and ZRL. Zambia Railways reimbursed him for some monies he spent because they felt duty bound and appreciate the person who helped the team pull through during a difficult phase. He could have opted to keep his money and let the team that has produced the greatest player to don the Zambian jersey go under. How much has Kalusha given his boyhood club Mufulira Wanderers at their point of need? He would also have been refunded. The answer is Kalusha has never given Wanderers anything.
ERICK’S STATEMENT: Airtel Rising Stars is a continental initiative of mobile phone company which was given to Kamanga and Ponga by virtue of the Government support they enjoyed at the height of the FAZ wrangles in 2010/2011 when they held sway as an illegitimate body but recognised by a corrupt and inept Government that was equally kicked out of power by the PF months later. Perhaps Kamanga can explain why Airtel Zambia decided to work with FAZ after only a year than individuals who were only accountable to themselves. Lack of accountability.
RESPONSE: If you had time to research data and not specialise in other people’s signatures, Erick would know and tell people the truth on the genesis of the Airtel rising stars. For the benefit of those that may buy into this, the truth is we should be proud that this is a brain child of a Zambian and the concept replicated across the continent. We now don’t even know why last year’s tournament was never held.
On the FAZ wrangles, Kamanga is a law abiding citizen and keeps his side of the bargain. When FIFA decided that we hold an AGM where a vote of confidence shall be tabled, he obliged and once the issue failed through the underhand withdrawal, he conceded in the interest of soccer that the issue be put to rest. In hindsight, the pressure mounted on FAZ yielded the desired results which was winning the AFCON 2012. In the absence of that pressure, the team has been losing and performance is way below par.
ERICK’S STATEMENT: His claim to illegitimate Presidency was done at a time he did not meet the requisite five years experience to hold office of FAZ Presidency. Realising his deficiency he mooted a plan to oust the then Chairman of Kabwe Warriors Evans Mutangama through a well hatched plan with some members of the RSL management. This treacherous act has some burning embers in Kabwe. Why did he have to leave the Kabwe Warriors chairmanship for a committee member position at Power Dynamos. Did one Jerry Mukonkela at RSL have anything to do with it.
RESPONSE: On Kabwe Warriors issues you are at sea. Kamanga was at the club as committee member for almost three years. Mr Mutangama resigned on his own accord and that’s when Kamanga ascended to the helm of Kabwe. Mr Munkonkela has never worked for RSZ but Zambia Railways. The intention of joining the PDFC was to do a due diligence on the team with a view to buying it or possibility of North Western Energy Corporation being joint sponsors with CEC energy.
ERICK STATEMENT: Kamanga was in the forefront to persuade Munaile, Pivot, Chitembeya and Violet to resign from the Kalusha Bwalya Executive promising them government support for their effort only to abandon them down the line. Why are these four not supporting his candidature today? History has a way for atoning for its mistakes. The Kamanga cookie has crumbled and his support base of 2011 remains but a pipe dream. You can count them on your finger tips. Kamuloso in the Northwest, Eddy and Pule in the central, Kapyanga and Mpande in the North, a lone Kapenda in the East and a nonentity of Maliti and several others in Lusaka. This will be a telling defeat that will consign him to the dreaded dungeons of history come the end of Kalusha’s illustrious legacy in 2021.
RESPONSE: If you don’t know, its best to keep your mouth shut. Kamanga was invited as an alternative to the administrative malaise that had rocked Zambian football under the leadership of Kalusha. As a country we failed to bring in referees for the Seychelles game that was played in Lusaka after a 24 hour delay because some body failed to send them tickets. This was at the backdrop of the London debacle and many other failings. It was out of genuine concern that a group of young guys mooted the ideas of removing the executive through an impeachment. These included Gift Chaipa, Gideon Kaumba and Keith Mwewa. After they hatched the plan, they consulted with some members in the executive on the issue. The four members that resigned held their own view. They were informed that there was a potential candidate who would bring credibility to FAZ and that’s how Kamanga was approached. People evolve and if they are not supporting Kamanga, it’s within their right. When we look at the current arrangement around Kalusha, which people are supporting him from way back? Where is Marcha Chilemena, Keagan Chipango? What happened to the late Keagan Mumba who was a firm supporter of Kalusha? Did he die a banned coach by the same people he campaigned for? Is Kasengele and Kalusha not the best of friends today? Doesn’t Erick know what happened between Kasengele and Kalusha during the Africa Cup of Nations in 1998. Kasengele even impressed on the coach to strip Kalusha of the armband. Isn’t Kasengele and Kazala sharing the same boardroom today? Does Erick know they could not see eye-to-eye at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt in 2006? Does Erick want to know the reason why?
ADVISE: Our appeal to Erick is to keep this campaign sober, clean and free of personal attacks. They have more in their closets so damaging their butts will have no place to rest. To them, it’s a matter of life or death but there is need for civility in their approach. They don’t want to regret after the next 30 days.
