Frank Mutubila, Everlyn Tembo Marriage Dissolved

Frank MutubilaThe celebrity marriage between veteran broadcaster Frank Mutubila and Evelyn has finally been dissolved by the Lusaka High Court.

Mutubila, a former deputy ambassador to Italian filed for divorce in November 2013 after his wife fell pregnant by gym instructor in Italy.

The duo has no children of their own and has agreed to parting ways.

High Judge Mwiinde Siavwapa dissolved the marriage on account that it had broken down irretrievably.

Mutubila is well from his flagship program on ZNBC dubbed Frank Talk and had stints with Radio Phoenix where he made a mark on the station’s trademark Let The People Talk program.

Evelyn is also a broadcaster and had a stint at ZNBC.

She had told the court that prior to the couple moving to Italy, it was agreed that they would make further attempts to have children because they had no child of their own and that she would pursue her PhD studies while developing their properties in Zambia.

She denied being disrespectful and uncaring to Mutubila and that if anything, it was him who had been verbally and physically abusing her.

When they moved to Italy, they sought medical assistance which revealed that he had low sperm count and it was agreed by the couple that they explore the option of vitro fertilization or artificial insemination.

In July 2014 while on vacation in Zambia, Evelyn brought up the issue of having a child and Mutubila told her to do as she pleased.

She alleged that Mutubila’s family threatened to find him a younger wife who could bear him twins adding that he often stayed away from their matrimonial home opting to stay in a hotel.

She had asked the Lusaka High Court to grant her maintenance pending suit and thereafter periodical payments secured provision and lump-sum for herself.

The marriage has been formally dissolved.

Kabila Gathers Support Ahead of Congo Elections

joseph_kabila_president_elections_rd_congo_zKinois on Saturday failed to show at what Etienne Tshisekedi had declared would be a massive rally against the delay in the next election of the DR Congo’s President Joseph Kabila.

Last week, Tshisekedi had issued the call to his supporters to come out to a large meeting on the same grounds where violence erupted on September 19th, costing over 50 lives and widespread condemnation of DRC’s government.

Since then, however, President Kabila has reached an agreement with over 75% of the country’s political establishment through a National Dialogue process that sets the path for new elections and, importantly, an interim government including opposition figures to manage the country until new elections are possible.

The United Nations, the European Union, and the Angolan-led Great Lakes Initiative within the African Union have all stated in recent weeks that the dialogue sets a path forward that will maintain order, the Congolese constitution and, ultimately, the people’s right to choose their government.

Angolan President Jose Eduardo Dos Santos met privately with Kabila in Luanda during a special summit meeting the week before last and expressed support for this path, which he characterized as a “non-acceptance of violence.”

Rwandan President Paul Kagame also telegraphed his support to Kabila over this process, which is especially important given the history of the last two decades. AU Special Envoy Edem Kodjo, who is widely credited for brokering the deal, may find his mission is not done yet. It still needs to be implemented.

Kabila is expected to name a new prime minister this week. And preparations for the elections must continue. According to Corneille Nangaa, the head of the DRC’s central election commission, if elections were held later this month as was originally intended, half the country’s eligible voters would be disqualified.

To date, though, nearly 1 million Congolese have been registered with updated equipment, and the commission appear on track to meet the July 2017 deadline set in the dialogue agreement. In the weeks ahead, one thing is sure: we will see whether the DRC remains on this path that has earned cautious praise from its neighbors, or whether log-jams anew arise along its continuing course to democracy.

UPND Concludes Marathon Day In Court

hichilema-court-1The opposition UPND had a marathon run through the courts of law on the Copperbelt with leader Hakainde Hichilema and Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba appearing in court in Luanshya while the other party appeared in the Kitwe High Court on the case of aggravated robbery.

In the post election period the UPND has been shuttling among courts for various offences with two batches in Lusaka and Kitwe slapped with aggravated robbery.

Former Lusaka Province minister Obvious Mwaliteta leads the Lusaka batch while Elisha Matambo is at the head of the Kitwe legion.

Below is what Hichilema wrote:

After our court case hearing at Luanshya Magistrate court this morning, we travelled to Kitwe for the High Court session of our incarcerated freedom fighters led by our Copperbelt Provincial Chairperson Elisha Matambo.

They are facing alleged offences of aggravated robbery which are none bailable. We still insist and hold the view that these are political prisoners, just like thousand others in various detentions around the country who were merely exercising their rights and obligations in the governance of our country.

It is also a well known fact that they are being punished for their civic duty in respect of the role they played in the vote protection following the disgusted August 11, 2016 elections.

They are all in high spirits and pleaded not guilty to the allegations of theft of a Zamtel phone, laptop, and Electoral Commission of Zambia materials.

It is our duty to continue offering support and encouragement to each other as their matter has been adjourned to the 10th, 11th and 21st November for trials.

When our time comes for the governance of this resource endowed country, we will never waste time and resources on trivialities such as harassing the opposition, as fighting and hunger through a well managed and predictable economic programme will be our priority.

Pleasant afternoon,

And may our good Lord Bless you.

M'membe ReleasedPost editor and shareholder Fred M’membe has pleaded with the Lusaka High Court to set aside the liquidation placed on the institution.

In his application to the Court, M’membe has argued that the liquidation process sparked by his former workers should be set aside as he had raised the funds required to clear their outstanding salaries and benefits.

The workers are demanding for about K700,000.00 in outstanding salaries and benefits.

Last week the High Court granted an ex-parte order to approve the liquidation process of The Post.

And Provisional Liquidator Lewis Mosho revealed that institutions that The Post owes hige funda have lined up to his office and a provisional list of total debts amounted to over K187Billion (million in rebased value).

But in his application, Fred Mmembe has insisted that he can pay K698,000.00.

HIV Activist & Lawmaker Kasune Challenges MPs To Disclose Status

princess-zulu-kasuneAn HIV/AIDS activist Princess Kasune Zulu serving as UPND MP for Keembe has challenged fellow lawmakers to disclose their status as a way of reducing stigma and discrimination.

Kasune made the call in her maiden speech in parliament.

BELOW IS KASUNE’S FULL TEXT

HIV ACTIVIST CHALLENGES MPS
“Disclose your HIV/AIDS Status”

Lusaka- Monday 7th November 2016

An international HIV/AIDS activist, and international author and now Member of Parliament for Keembe Constituency, Princess Kasune Zulu has challenged Members of Parliament (MP) to take bold steps and test for HIV/AIDS.

In her maiden speech to Parliament, Kasune Zulu said this would help reduce the stigma, discrimination and fears associated with living with HIV/AIDS.

Kasune-Zulu who is a celebrated author of the international best seller “A Warrior Princess”, and acrually lives with HIV, implored the MPs to take the fight against HIV/AIDS from policy to personal levels.

Ms Zulu, who is United Party for National Development(UPND) Keembe MP, also urged her fellow lawmakers living with HIV/AIDS to publicly announce their status to encourage their electorate to go for Voluntary Counselling and Testing(VCT)

In what ‘appeared’ to be one of the most ‘touching’ and ‘keenly’ listened to maiden speeches, among MPs since creation of Parliament, Ms Zulu, has become the first law maker to publicly disclose that she is HIV positive in the House.

Clad in an ‘eye-catching’ chitenge outfit , the MP seemingly ‘shocked’ other MPs as she happily disclosed that she has lived with HIV/AIDS since 1997, and was saddened that some people are not living ‘freely’ owing to fear to go for VCT to know their status.

“Not only did I lose my brother and parents to HIV/AIDS, I have been living with the HIV since I was diagnosed in 1997.Mr Speaker, history has been made as I have become the first law maker who is publicly known to be HIV positive, and the first female MP for Keembe constituency since Zambia’s independence in 1964,” she said as scores of MPs hugged her when the House went on a tea-break.

She was disappointed that many people, who have tested positive, were taking their medicines in secrecy due to fear of being stigimatised and discriminated.

The ‘fear’ to go for VCT, she said, should not to be the case considering strides being made in Zambia, and the fact that there was no family not being infected or affected to HIV/AIDS.

She has talked about her status worldwide to leaders like former American President, George W. Bush, leading to authorisation of US$15 billion that came to be known as President’s Emergency plan for Aids Relief (PEPFAR) and the reauthorisation of the US$51 billion global fund for malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS.

With disclosure of her status in Parliament, she was confident that it would serve as a ‘beacon’ of hope for those living with HIV/AIDS and other people that being positive was not a ‘death sentence’.

“Mr Speaker, it is for this reason that we as law makers and leaders have a great responsibility at hand to lead in the fight against HIV/AIDS. In so doing, we will be able to reduce the stigma that perpetuates in our society,” she said.

The nation, she said was counting on MPs to show leadership and work together in taking the necessary steps to support the Government’s efforts to fight HIV/AIDS.

On children born with HIV/AIDS, the MP urged Government and other stakeholders to increase sensitisation to young people to appreciation their status with care and support.

In her constituency, she bemoaned the lack of development and called for an increment to Constituency Development Fund to rural constituencies like hers to speed up delivery of development.

She appealed to Government to build more clinics, upgraded road networks, increased beneficiaries of farming inputs, and adequate water provision in Keembe to uplift the welfare of her electorate.

FDD’s Mwanza Explains Dundumwezi Formula

$

Antonio MwanzaFDD Spokesperson Antonio Mwanza got a taste of Dundumwezi love and dug into some of the issues around the electorally famous constituency.

Mwanza dissected the probable Dundumwezi electoral motivation for voting the way they did tying it to the United States elections that are at the heart of global political discourse.

Below is the full posting by Mwanza:

THE PEOPLE OF DUNDUMWEZI WERE RIGHT: STOP DEMONISING THEM AND BANTU BONSE BA KUMUSANZA

There is a propaganda scheme by some people to label others as tribal and sow and nurture a seed of hate towards others. When they overwhelmingly win in certain regions they say that the people voted in such a manner because that is their stronghold but when others overwhelmingly win in certain regions the same characters stand up and accuse their friends saying the people in that specific region voted in the manner they did because they are tribal.

Now, any ardent follower of politics knows very well that ethnicity, policies, character, party, age, gender, race, religion all play a crucial role in the choices voters make when electing people. The United States of America, which is widely recognised as the epitome of democracy is divided in what are called red states and blue states; red states traditionally vote Republican and blue states traditionally vote Democrat. The elections in the USA are often decided by what are termed Swing States. These are a couple of states that neither lean Republican nor Democrat but swing red or blue in almost every election. Race, gender, religion, all play a very significant role in America’s elections. It took over 200 years for a black man to win the race to the White House and it has taken over 200 years for a woman to be nominated as a candidate for a major political party in the USA. It is almost impossible for a black person, a Muslim, let alone a woman to be President of the United States of America.

In UK Gordon Brown is the first Scottish in modern history to be elected Prime Minister of Britain. And only two women have so far served as Premiers of Britain in its long political history. Sadiq Khan is the first and only Muslim to be elected as Mayor of London.

In Nigeria, religion plays a key role in elections. The people in the North and the ones in the South vote on the basis of Christianity and Islam.

In the Middle East many voters vote on the basis of the variations of Islam, that is Sunni and Shia Islam.

Even at UNZA, monks traditionally vote for those who are radical as UNZASU executive while Momas and Mojos often vote for soft characters as UNZASU executive.

Young voters often vote for candidates who are liberal and on the other hand older people often vote for more conservative candidates.

So to try and demonise the people of Dundumwezi or indeed the great people of Kumusanza is to choose to deliberately ignore the dynamics that are always at play in the electoral process or worse still it is to be hypocritical and try to play the Tribal Card.

Everywhere in the world, dynamics such as ethnicity, race, age, policies, party, gender, character all play a crucial role in elections.

Viva Dundumwezi. Utachiyandi achileke.

KazalaThe Anti Corruption Commission has opened an inquiry into the alleged cases of gross misconduct by suspended FAZ vice president Richard Kazala and committee member Blackwell Siwale.

ACC Public Relations officer Timothy Moono said the cases being investigated were both criminal and civil in nature.

On Saturday Kamanga suspended Kazala and Siwale for gross misconduct.

The duo has been implicated in a K150, 000 (K150 million old currency) theft scandal concerning money for tickets that was paid for by President Edgar Lungu for the Zambia versus Nigeria match.

Kazala and his acolyte Siwale, under-declared the 1, 650, 000, that was paid to them in cash by only forwarding K1, 500, 000.

Kambwili Fired For Copperbelt Chaos Arising From Illegal Land Allocation

KambwiliCAs the public continues to react to the dismissal of information minister Chishimba Kambwili, pieces are falling in place over the reasons for his dismissal.

Kambwili has been fingered as the mastermind behind the chaos at the Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe Airport in Ndola where Copperbelt Minister Bowman Lusambo was almost lynched by cadres.

Lusambo angered PF functionaries on the Copperbelt over his sentiments over the illegal allocation of land along the Kafubu stream and Levy Mwanawasa stadium.

Vice President Inonge Wina walked into a hostile terrain as she tried to pacify the situation that had angered the Copperbelt PF cadres.

Kambwili allegedly sided with the cadres saying they should be allowed to access land as it was part of the benefit of being in power.

The Vice President reported her experience on the Copperbelt and may have just driven the final nail into Kamwbili’s volatile stay at the helm of the information portfolio.

President Lungu may have pacified some forces by appointing another Copperbelt Member of Parliament as a replacement.

Lusambo has come under fire from the true green PF that see him as alienating them from the party.

Currently the Copperbelt hard core PF constituency is seething with anger over Lusambo’s hard line stance against illegal land allocation.

Donald Trump Defeats Hillary Clinton To Win US Presidential Election In Major Upset

$
0
0

Donald John Trump was elected the 45th president of the United States on Tuesday in a stunning culmination of an explosive, populist and polarizing campaign that took relentless aim at the institutions and long-held ideals of American democracy.

The surprise outcome, defying late polls that showed Hillary Clinton with a modest but persistent edge, threatened convulsions throughout the country and the world, where skeptics had watched with alarm as Mr. Trump’s unvarnished overtures to disillusioned voters took hold.

The triumph for Mr. Trump, 70, a real estate developer-turned-reality television star with no government experience, was a powerful rejection of the establishment forces that had assembled against him, from the world of business to government, and the consensus they had forged on everything from trade to immigration.

The results amounted to a repudiation, not only of Mrs. Clinton, but of President Obama, whose legacy is suddenly imperiled. And it was a decisive demonstration of power by a largely overlooked coalition of mostly blue-collar white and working-class voters who felt that the promise of the United States had slipped their grasp amid decades of globalization and multiculturalism.

In Mr. Trump, a thrice-married Manhattanite who lives in a marble-wrapped three-story penthouse apartment on Fifth Avenue, they found an improbable champion.

“The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer,” Mr. Trump told supporters around 3 a.m. on Wednesday at a rally in New York City, just after Mrs. Clinton called to concede.

In a departure from a blistering campaign in which he repeatedly stoked division, Mr. Trump sought to do something he had conspicuously avoided as a candidate: Appeal for unity.

“Now it’s time for America to bind the wounds of division,” he said. “It is time for us to come together as one united people. It’s time.”

That, he added, “is so important to me.”

He offered unusually warm words for Mrs. Clinton, who he has suggested should be in jail, saying she was owed “a major debt of gratitude for her service to our country.”

Bolstered by Mr. Trump’s strong showing, Republicans retained control of the Senate. Only one Republican-controlled seat, in Illinois, fell to Democrats early in the evening. And Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina, a Republican, easily won re-election in a race that had been among the country’s most competitive. A handful of other Republican incumbents facing difficult races were running better than expected.

Mr. Trump’s win — stretching across the battleground states of Florida, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania — seemed likely to set off financial jitters and immediate unease among international allies, many of which were startled when Mr. Trump in his campaign cast doubt on the necessity of America’s military commitments abroad and its allegiance to international economic partnerships.

From the moment he entered the campaign, with a shocking set of claims that Mexican immigrants were rapists and criminals, Mr. Trump was widely underestimated as a candidate, first by his opponents for the Republican nomination and later by Mrs. Clinton, his Democratic rival. His rise was largely missed by polling organizations and data analysts. And an air of improbability trailed his campaign, to the detriment of those who dismissed his angry message, his improvisational style and his appeal to disillusioned voters.

He suggested remedies that raised questions of constitutionality, like a ban on Muslims entering the United States.

He threatened opponents, promising lawsuits against news organizations that covered him critically and women who accused him of sexual assault. At times, he simply lied.

But Mr. Trump’s unfiltered rallies and unshakable self-regard attracted a zealous following, fusing unsubtle identity politics with an economic populism that often defied party doctrine.

His rallies — furious, entertaining, heavy on name-calling and nationalist overtones — became the nexus of a political movement, with daily promises of sweeping victory, in the election and otherwise, and an insistence that the country’s political machinery was “rigged” against Mr. Trump and those who admired him.

He seemed to embody the success and grandeur that so many of his followers felt was missing from their own lives — and from the country itself. And he scoffed at the poll-driven word-parsing ways of modern politics, calling them a waste of time and money. Instead, he relied on his gut.

pres-lungu-rutoPresident Edgar Lungu has urged Africans to respect the rule of law, democracy and good governance.

The Head of State was speaking when African Union (AU) Peace and Security Council apid a courtesy call on him yesterday.

BELOW IS THE FULL STATEMENT

LUSAKA, (TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2016)

-His Excellency Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu President of the Republic of Zambia has called on African leaders to uphold constitutionalism, the rule of law, democracy and good governance, if the continent has to attain peace and stability and forge its development agenda.

President Lungu has said failure by some African leaders to respect their countries’ constitutions has been a source of conflicts on the continent.

Speaking when members of the African Union (AU) Peace and Security Council paid a courtesy call on him at State House today, President Lungu said constitutionalism is a prerequisite for peace and security on the African continent.

The President observed that some African countries were under strife because of lack of respect for constitutionalism.

President Lungu says constitutions should not be changed at will to serve selfish interests at the expense of the majority citizens.

“Our people want peace. We can give them peace through the respect for our constitutions. Lack of respect for constitutions is a recipe for anarchy,” The President said.

“Let the people’s constitutions be stable. All of us are passengers and we will not be there forever. Leaders must therefore allow the law to take its course for the sake of peace on the continent. It is about the rule of law, democracy and good governance. There is also need for governments to treat former leaders with respect and diginity after they leave office,” the President said.

And the President has assured the African Union Peace and Security Council members to count on the Zambian Government support to push for the implementation of resolutions of the ongoing retreat in Lusaka, at the forth-coming Heads of State and Government AU Summit in January 2017.

President Lungu assured of his unwavering personal commitment and the Zambian Government’s dedication to ensure that African countries which have not yet ratified the African Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance (2007) do so.

Earlier, Representative of the AU Peace and Security Council members Ambassador Osman Kamara from Sierra Leone appealed to the President to take a leading role in ensuring that the declaration of the African Union Assembly in 2013 to make Africa conflict-free by 2020 through the agenda “Silencing the Guns-Owning the Future.”

And Burundi’s Representative to the Council Ambassador Dieudonne Ndabarushimana described Zambia as a source of inspiration and a haven of stability, peace and hope.

Ambassador Ndabarushimana says Zambia’s unwavering commitment to peace and stability in Africa is conspicuous hence the need for the country to spearhead to continent’s vision to attain peace and stability.

And Kenya’s Representative to the Council Ambassador Joseph Vungo expressed concern that democracy in Africa was under threat due to prolonged stay of some African leaders in some countries.

Ambassador Vungo appealed to President Lungu to take up the role of an Ambassador in this matter by collaborating with his counterparts to put an end to this challenge.

Other members in the Council who visited State House included those from Algeria, Botswana, Chad, Congo, Egypt, Kenya, Niger, Rwanda, Nigeria, South Africa, Togo and Uganda.

Kazala Boasts; “State House Will Clear Us; Investigations Going Nowhere”

Football HouseSuspended Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) vice president Richard Kazala and committee member Blackwell Siwale are boasting to their friends that State House will clear them on allegations of stealing K150,000 meant for ticket sales.

FAZ president Andrew Kamanga has suspended the duo for pocketing the money after imposing themselves to collect K 1, 650,000 on behalf of the association from government after President Edgar Lungu bought tickets for fans for last month’s Zambia versus Nigeria match.
But after collecting the money in bags, Kazala and Siwale only remitted K 1,500,000 and pocketed the difference.

The two PF supporters are now frantically trying to use their party and State House connections to get a letter from President Lungu which will purport that they collected K 1,500,000 when infact not.
“They are boasting that the investigations will not go anywhere the moment they get that letter from President Lungu that is why up to now, they have not denied or accepted the allegations,” the sources said.

“I mean these are serious allegations and if someone calls you a thief when you are not, you are going to say something to defend yourself but the two are dead quiet. They know they stole but are hoping the President will issue a letter clearing them.

“The whole thing has put pressure on State House that’s why even them have not said anything. They know Kazala and Siwale stole the money and if they issue that letter, State House will effectively be owing FAZ K 150,000 and this whole fight against corruption will just be meaningless if such a straightforward and simple matter cannot be dealt with.”

The sources urged “President Lungu to do the right thing and not shield football thieves.”
According to sources, Kazala is even making reference to the investigations on Kalusha Bwalya by the ACC.

“He says takuli eko fileya ati tamwamona ifya chitika pali Kalusha. The ACC has done nothing. They will not do anything to us,” the source added.

Kazala is also boasting that he has enough resources to take care of any investigator.

“Apparently if State House clears Kazala, he has vowed to go for Kamanga. He says he will finish Kamanga,” the source added.

Kazala is currently talking to FAZ councilors to rebel against Kamanga and remove him from office at the next Annual General Meeting in March 2017.

Jack MwiimbuMonze Central Member of Parliament Jack Mwiimbu rubbed it in on dismissed Information Minister Chishimba Kambwili by advising the latter’s successor to be humble.

Mwiimbu and Kambwili have often traded verbal blows in parliament and the former did not let the moment pass in parliament after the Roan Member of Parliament was fired on Tuesday by President Edgar Lungu.

Mwiimbu had risen to pose a question to the Vice President Inonge Wina as a follow up to a question for oral answer by Kanchibiya Member of Parliament Dr Martin Malama but squeezed in a jibe at Kambwili.

The Monze lawmaker said that it was his prayer that the new minister of information Mulenga Kampamba should not be arrogant.

“Mr Speaker I would like to congratulate the new minister of information. I hope that she will learn to be humble and not mistreat journalists. She should lead the ministry with humility unlike her predecessor,” he said.

Kambwili was shockingly shown the door by President Lungu with many having believed that he was untouchable.

Recently President Lungu announced that he had received reports of corrupt ministers in his government.
Zambia Reports understands that his mastermind of the anti Bowman Lusambo antics over the weekend proved the last straw.

Milumbe had pushed his head through the rear window of the car as he tried to stop his wife from driving away with the children and was dragged for about a kilometre before he fell off.

The matter has since been adjourned to November 14 for explanation of the charge.

Opinion: Zambian Football Must Rid Itself Of Crooks Like Kazala & Siwale

siwale-pongaThose that seek to tear down a corrupt order may find a vicious backlash as many in the world have come to find out. Not too far from home late President Levy Mwanawasa’s Presidency suffered partly because of the resistance from those whose alleged corrupt ways he sought to cleanse.

President Mwanawasa had little interest in football, but when he had an opportunity to officiate at an event by Konkola Copper Mines to sponsor the national league, he remarked, “Ba pompwe mu bola twakana (We reject thieves in our football).”

Many may have thought President Mwanawasa was exaggerating. True to his prediction, there are thieves littered all over football administration in Zambia. And these must be rejected.

Andrew Kamanga has found the going very tough from the time he declared his candidacy to run for the Football Association of Zambia presidency. His undoing was having declared that he was going to rid the game of corrupt elements. This did not endear him to those that have entrenched the game into the filth of corruption.

They had made match ticketing so fraudulent that it became one of the biggest scandals of the Zambian game. Money for international match appearances was never declared and at times players never paid their dues in full. The association is heavily indebted. Its debt has hit the ceiling with ZRA, NAPSA, Hotels, suppliers and individuals but those in FAZ have found it pleasurabe to even share gate takings at the stadium shortly after the match is over.

Did they not sweep under the carpet the harvest from the high profile international friendly matches against Brazil and Japan even when those global federations publicly stated that the appearance fee was US1.5 million for each match? Did the country not get half hearted explanations over the 2012 Africa Cup prize money about CAF allegedly paying only a portion of the prize money?

So the truth is once someone had come on the promise of opening up all these honey pots his was bound to meet resistance in the game. And look at how they are tossing Kamanga left, right and centre because he stood on the podium of transparency and pledge to restore integrity to the management of the game.

It is not surprising that Kamanga has never known peace for having sworn to sweep Football House of corruption. They are working hard to undermine him into failure, to frustrate him not to implement his vision, to even change the minds of concillors and public opinion about him.

Mind you even the welcome act of declaring gate takings in the aftermath of international matches has earned Kamanga enemies. People can’t forgive the fact that he has deprived them opportunities for their petty thieving. Is it not petty theft for an entire President of an association to demand US$300 dollars from players in order to be included in the team? Now they are having sleepless nights over the Computer Ticketing system.

Let no one be fooled that Richard Kazala and Blackwell Siwale have been fighting Kamanga to build the game. They have been doing the bidding for their proven crooked puppeteer. These are hardcore thieves. They can kill to continue stealing. Now you understand why they went so much out of their way to heavily corrupt councillors so that they can be in FAZ. It was not about service, its about stealing public funds.

How can Kazala stoop so low. Kazala is a relatively well to do businessman. Why should he steal from the public, the same he has once served as minister and Member of Parliament? The bottom line is sheer greed. These are thieves.

No wonder it was so easy for them to stash away K150, 000 like petty cash from the money intended for Football House coffers. They thought about no one but themselves.

Rather than go to town screaming victimization Kazala and his sidekick should admit they are being prevented from looting FAZ coffers.

So for now let Kamanga work and those that have stolen should be treated like every common criminal, which they are. And Zambian football should never create room for these hoodlums.

ParliamentZambia’s Parliament has approved a motion to amend the recently amended constitution with resounding numbers.

The private member motion moved by Mwansabombwe Member of Parliament Rodgers Mwewa received massive support with 91 lawmakers voting YES while 52, predominately UPND, rejected the proposal with a NO vote.

This is the first stage in what may be a tedious process. The ruling party will need two-thirds majority (106 out of 164 MPs) to successfully pass the amendments.

According to the motion, MPs want the re-introduction of position for deputy ministers, council representation, ministers staying in office after dissolution of parliament.

Lawmakers further want the immediate swearing in of a President after being declared winner. They also want to remove the 14 days clause provided to resolve any legal challenge before a presidential candidate is declared winner.
