MunkombweSouthern Province Minister Daniel Munkombwe dished out K50 notes at a political rally at Kazungula’s Ngwezi area saying he was spreading the benefits of the removal of fuel and mealie meal subsidies.

The 73-year-old newly appointed Southern Province minister said the removal of subsidies was meant to benefit poor people in the country.

Munkombwe, who claimed to have been receiving 3000 defectors from the opposition United Party for National Development, was in Kazungula in line with President Michael Sata’s directive to his over 80 ministers to go across the country to support the removal of subsidies.

Munkombwe, who had carried a stash of cash, gave out some K50 notes which he said were an instant benefit from the removal of subsidies.

He said the people would benefit more if they heeded the PF’s call to remove subsidies.

Munkombwe stuck to his political philosophy of politics of benefits as he has become notorious for openely saying every politician is in it for the economic rewards.
