Chipangali member of parliament Vincent Mwale has disputed parts of a media statement suggesting he was compromising he hardline stance after allegedly being sent on a trip to Europe by the Patriotic Front government.
Responding to sentiments published online, the young and vibrant leader who has had a flawless political career thus far says; “For the Benefit of those reading on the [Zambian] Watchdog, no per diems or trip to planet Mars can change what I think about the PF government.”
The Zambian Watchdog published had a disclaimer to the story they sourced from the PF aligned Post Newspaper stating, “THIS REPORT WAS PUBLISHED BY THE POST NEWSPAPER, A PRO-GOVERNMENT TABLOID. CHANCES OF IT BEING INACCURATE AND REFUTED ARE HIGH.”
Mwale is suggesting that press attache at the European Union Lambwe Kachali, a former Post Newspaper journalist, either misquoted or exaggerated the attributions he made to the parliamentarian.
“Unfortunately I had no control over what Lembwe Kachali a former Post reporter had to write, but not everything he wrote is true,” he said.
Mwale has also blamed the ‘misinterpretation’ of his statement on untrustworthy opposition lawmakers who have used the slightest of opportunities benefiting their bellies or lining their pockets to cross over and be part of a heavily bloated PF cabinet of over 70 ministers and their deputies
“I guess I have to blame it on fellow MPs who have caused so much mistrust on us, pipo hate anything suspicious of a bye election,” he said.
Mwale is quoted as saying negative reports about Zambia are not a true reflection of what is obtaining in the country. Zambia’s is international image is tattered following numerous Human Rights abuses by President Michael Sata and the PF government.
A recent United States of America human rights reports also cited numerous human rights abuses accusing President Sata of slowing turning the country into a dictatorial by denying members of the opposition their fundamental rights to assemble or freely express their opinions.
The Post Newspaper, which is a self proclaimed PF public relations wing, has used every opportunity to launder the ruling party and quotes anything that has some comments they perceive will put President Sata’s regime in good light.
