Patriotic Front Ministers are religiously following President Michael Sata’s order to go to all corners of the country to defend the removal of maize and fuel subsidies putting pressure on public broadcaster ZNBC to tailor their news on a subsidy diet.
Defence minister Geoffrey Mwamba is scouring every nook and cranny of Kasama and has been a permanent feature on the many news shoving the government position on the largely rural and unquestioning audience.
His information counterpart Kennedy Sakeni who is in Mansa has been also claiming a fair share of airtime preaching the removal of subsidies.
Lusaka Province minister Colonel Gerry Chanda has also been busy posing before ZNBC cameras on what has now become the public media news diet forced down on the public.
A litany of deputy ministers are also scrounging for the limelight as they also spread across the country to preach the ‘glories’ of subsidies that has seen the traditionally 30 minute news bulletin spread to an hour.
There have been concerns at how much it would cost the country to courier one minister on a subsidy clarification expedition.
