The Patriotic Front government is still delaying to compensate owners of Chinese Collumn Coal Mine that they have repossessed after alleged poor management.
Mines Minister Christopher Yaluma has attributed the delay in compensating the Chinese mine owners and because government has not yet completed the evaluation of the mining assets.
Yaluma said government has instituted a team to negotiate with the owners of the mine and attach cost to assets so that they can make the compensation.
He said the negotiation exercise is still on-going and that government has not yet received a final report on the status of the mine.
Yaluma said the compensation will only be done when both sides agree and thereafter they will start planning ahead.
