The ruling Patriotic Front (PF) has dismissed assertions that its popularity is dwindling and that it will struggle to get votes in the 2016 elections.
PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba has maintained that the PF is still very popular in the country and that it will even get more votes in the 2016 polls than it got in the 2011 elections.
Kabimba, who is also Justice Minister, says the PF’s strength and popularity is also evidenced by the winning of by-elections in constituencies considered to be strongholds of the opposition.
The PF recently lost three out of four by-election which shocked its members. The party is now scared of some candidates and resorted to blocking them for fear of losing more by-elections.
