A 47-year-old Lusaka man who married a Mazabuka Police officer in charge has been sentenced to four years in prison for bigamy.
Golden Phiri got married to Mazabuka Police officer in charge Liz Machina when he was still married to Lusaka woman Emma Chima.
Judge Isaac Chali sentenced Phiri to four years in prison with hard labour.
The judge said the conviction will send a warning to men who took advantage of women.
