Former Copperbelt Police Commanding officer Mary Tembo has pleaded not guilty to two counts of corruption.
Tembo who appeared in the Ndola Magistrate Court today pleaded not guilty and her case has since been adjourned to February 3.
When the matter came up before Ndola Magistrate Paul Chisha, the prosecution team led by Boniface Chiwala asked for an adjournment to next year as the defence’s lawyer Milner Katolo had notified them that he would be unavailable until February next year.
Chisha granted the adjournment and set February 3, 4 and 5 as dates for trial.
Tembo is accused of having converted a Toyota Corolla into her personal use granted to her by Grizzly Mining.
In the other count the fallen Copperbelt chief had Grizzly Mining repair her personal Toyota Cressida on the pretext that it was being done for official use.
