Five people of the same family, among them a one year old baby have died in a road traffic accident involving a Mercedes Benz Truck and an unregistered Toyota Raum on the Chingola Solwezi road.
The accident occurred after the driver of the Benz Truck lost control and hit into the Toyota Raum. North western province Deputy Police Commissioner Michael Nkaka has identified the driver of the truck as Chisenga Chilufya, aged 31.
The dead are David Bwalya, 36, Doris Mwewa, 31, Mable Chanda ,56, and Joyce Mwewa, 28.
Nkaka identified the one year old baby as Angel Bwalya.
He said the driver of the truck has been arrested and charged with dangerous driving.
Nkaka says it took over an hour to retrieve the body of the driver from the mangled Toyota Raum.
