One of the six directors allegedly unfairly dismissed by Tourism Minister Sylvia Masebo says the minister acted beyond her powers when she dissolved the Zambia Wild Life Association board.
Former procurement director Tauron Banda said Masebo had no right to terminate their contracts as she did not sign their appointment letters.
Banda said he only learnt of the dismissal through the press and had not been given a fair hearing.
He said Masebo had acted outside her authority when she dissolved the board.
In December, 2012 Masebo dissolved the ZAWA board a move that has since attracted a probe after former Tourism Minister William Harrington sought the Supreme Court’s intervention.
