The Foundation for Democratic Process says the continued protests by opposition Members of Parliament should compel President Michael Sata to act on the constitution.
FODEP Executive Director MacDonald Chipenzi said the protests were a manifestation of the frustration of the Zambian people with a stubborn leadership.
Chipenzi said keeping quiet would not help the executive in any way.
“We hope the protests will compel President Sata to act on the constitution because it is representative of the general feeling of the Zambian people,” he said.
“It will not help the executive to keep quiet or ignore the calls for a new constitution as they have indicated. They have to listen to the Zambian people’s cry for a constitution which the PF promised to deliver in 90 days.”
