Lowly placed Patriotic Front youths have continued parroting their leaders’ sentiments on denying Zambians a people driven constitution by saying there was no need to rush the process that has been going on for 19 years.
The not so youthful Lusaka Province youth chairperson Kennedy Kamba said President Michael Sata would not give the Zambian people a new constitution until article 296 on land ownership was tabled.
Kamba, who in his blind loyalty has not cared to check that even under the current constitution land is vested in the president, said the PF wants the chiefs to have ownership of land.
He said the PF youths will not allow any progress on the constitution until the issue of land was addressed.
“As far as we the PF youths are concerned the President will not allow that draft to pass as long as that article is not tabled. We will not give Zambians a constitution because of that matter,” Kamba said.
The PF official, who is currently on trial for assault, has taken the bait from his superiors who have been ridiculing the demands for a people driven constitution that was promised by the PF government whilst in opposition.
PF Lusaka district chairperson Mulenga Sata recently said the constitution was not a priority as Zambians could not eat a constitution.
