Alliance for a Better Zambia president Father Frank Bwalya says Republican Vice President Guy Scott should resign for having endorsed fired Tourism Minister Sylvia Masebo’s actions during the Rhoydah Kaoma tribunal.
Scott, who sided with Masebo, who has since been fired for her gross abuse of authority actions at the Zambia Wildlife Authority where she illegally dissolved the board and cancelled hunting safari tenders, said Masebo was within her powers to act in the manner she did.
The Vice President’s testimony was in contravention of the stance taken by Attorney General Mumba Malila who said Masebo acted beyond her powers.
Fr Bwalya said following the dismissal of Masebo, Scott must have followed on his own to save himself from embarrassment.
“His honour the Vice President defended what was wrong at the tribunal and therefore must resign given what has happened to Masebo,” he said.
“He has to resign because he is supposed to be fired but he can save himself that embarrassment. I have nothing against him in fact he is my friend and would like to drink tea with him someday. But whether he is my friend or not he has to resign.”
