United Party for National Development president Hakainde Hichilema is making an appearance in the Lusaka Magistrates Court on a charge of publication of false news with intent to cause fear and alarm to the public.
Hichilema, who is one of the leading opposition political party leaders that have been lumped with a litany of court cases by the Patriotic Front, is appearing before magistrate Aridah Chulu.
The UPND leader was until recently appearing in the Livingstone Magistrate Court until the government entered a nolle prosequi.
Hichilema has been charged under section 67 (1) (2) of the Penal Code Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
The Patriotic Front has devised a judicial strategy to confuse the opposition by slapping them with trumped up charges.
