Zambia’s Chipolopolo Off to Middle East for a Friendly Against Saudi Arabia

Long time second choice Chipolopolo goalie Kalililo Kakonje has been left out of the Saudi Arabia bound team.

According to the final 20 member team that leaves for the oil rich country Kakonje, Kennedy Mudenda, Kangwa Chileshe, miss out on the final travelling party.

There was good news for Italian based 18-year old goalie who has made the trip ahead of Kakonje who is headed to Zimbabwe next season to feature for CAPS United.

The others who were part of the initial list but could not be released by the army command due to the military games taking place in Ivory Coast are Davy Kaumbwa (Green Buffaloes), Bruce Musakanya (Red Arrows) with Reynold Kampamba heading for BSC Young Boys to try out his luck.

The team has had to endure three postponements before the trip finally came to fruition.

Zambia plays Saudi Arabia on Wednesday in an international friendly that is part of the Africa Cup preparations.
